Women Meeting Women – Groups and Mailing Lists
WMW Activities
This mailing list offers a way for women to stay informed about informal social events and gatherings. Game nights, cribbage, potlucks, seminars, food social, if someone’s doin’ it, you’ll know about it on this list.
One of the main attractions is food socials. These were developed to gather women together to meet and network for fun and developing new relationships. It’s a monthly gathering occurring on a Friday night and is a great way to meet new women and enjoy good food. We usually do need an RSVP, since large numbers require advanced notice at local restaurants.
Do you know of a women’s event or want to invite other women to your women’s event? Use this list to get the word out, and don’t forget to submit it for posting to the calendar. It’s open to all women’s events. Just be sure to provide all the required details.
WMW Bikes
Lead by Karen L, WMW Bikes is a great way to get outdoors, socialize, and venture to picturesque places all at the same time. Come enjoy the warm weather and nature that surrounds, while we ride the bike trails in NH and MA!! Some of the many trails we may explore follow coastlines, lighthouse routes, scenic countryside, and historic landmarks.
As we form, we will decide where we ride as a group. Places such as the Minuteman Trail, Plum Island barrier beach, and Duxbury bike loop (which allows you to go to the beach without the magical beach sticker!) are only a few places we may choose.
We meet every other Sunday thru the fall. We are non-competitive and ride together as a group. Children are welcome, and all levels of cyclists are encouraged to join, as we expect to be riding paved and mainly flat bike paths.
So, pump up those tires… we’ll be a fun group!!! And don’t forget to see the calendar for details on rides.
WMW Kids
It has been a couple of years since WMW Kids was up and running, and we’re happy to announce it’s rebirth. Devon E originally began in January 2002 with a few families gathering in Hollis, NH, in hopes that this would be the start of something great. The kids group proved to be much more than that. As the children have grown, wonderful friendships have sparked, and the bond between children and mothers has become strong.
We meet every other week from April to October, enjoying many varied activities, from apple picking and swimming to BBQs and a weekend away at Storyland. Aunts, nieces, cousins, and grandmas are welcome to come along and join the fun. Be sure to check the calendar for the next play dates.
If you are interested in participating in this wonderful group, or have ideas for play dates, please subscribe to the mailing list, and be sure to submit definite play dates to the calendar for posting.
WMW Rap
Headed up by Tammy S, WMW Rap is an informal discussion group that gathers at least twice a month, every other Sunday, 3-5pm, from September to May, to talk about various topics determined through group consensus. The location for meetings changes according to whoever is kind enough to offer their home for that specific day.
Our meetings generally attract 12 to 20 women or more depending on topic, location, and the weather. Each meeting is different, with new attendees, as well as new environments. During the summer months we get together for dances, cruises, picnics, concerts, hiking and bike trips, and special events.
Group guidelines (download guidelines PDF) are reviewed every September at the first meeting, so the next revision happens in September 2008.
We are accepting of all women, and we welcome your participation. Anyone interested please visit the calendar for details on the next meeting and be sure to subscribe to the WMW Rap mailing list. For more information, contact us here.
